Picking up where I left off
Recently, I’ve started looking at old photos and thinking about those who have gone before me. Now, after all these years, there have been many. Too many — but life waits for no one.
As I write this, I’m sitting with our dear little kittens that we rescued. My ever-faithful best friend and companion of nearly 25 years is in the other room, doing what he always does. He steps up. He helps. He cares.
Both of my folks are gone now, as are Tom’s. As we walk forward into the next chapter of our lives — thankfully, together — there are a lot of unknowns. Moving up in the queue, as it were, becoming the older generation of the family comes with grief, but also wisdom… Obi-Wan Kenobi sort of wisdom.
I’ll continue to tell my story and the story of my family — both blood and found. I will continue to create music, and to carry forward the legacy bestowed on me by my parents and grandparents on both sides. And now....the rest of the story!
